The focus of the ThinkingCoalition has been to look at the validity (or lack thereof!) of The ScienceTM which is regularly wheeled out to justify coercive government policies, particularly the response to COVID. We were relatively early to sense that “scientific” responses to various perceived threats were being used, at least in part, to achieve social engineering goals, such as the infamous Great Reset. We guessed this before the publication of Klaus Schwab’s book; “COVID-19: The Great Reset” around July 2020. The book makes no bones about the fact that the authors desire to achieve “structural changes in behaviour” by turning elements of the COVID dystopia into a permanent way of life.
Endless global crises allow the globalists to transfer decision making and financial resources to unaccountable and un-democratic bodies beyond the reach of voters. Global crises require global responses, which render the idea of nation states obsolete and also imply that individual liberties are an anachronism that hamper effective top-down “solutions”. At the same time, the bar for defining a “crisis” is continuously lowered, perhaps most famously with the May 2009 revision to the WHO’s definition of a pandemic which was watered down to become largely meaningless1.
I wanted to explore what social engineering goals that often lurk behind The ScienceTM smokescreen and suggest that the globalists actually wish to create a new quasi-religious value system. This conclusion is not “conspiracy theory”, but rather comes from simply reading the globalists own material. One important document is the 1974 text The Changing Images of Man2, which as the name suggests is really a quasi-religious text, which makes clear that “necessary” societal changes can be achieved by redefining man’s place in the universe. Specifically, “If motivations change, because the basic picture of man-on-earth and man-in-the-cosmos has altered, then economics must change.” Other similar documents also make clear that globalists wish to displace existing religion (Christianity) and replace this with their own belief systems.
The Changing Images of Man came out around the same time as the better known Limits to Growth book and shares the same Malthusian thinking that rapid population growth predicted by computer models, coupled with finite resources will lead to societal collapse. Fortunately, the globalists are prepared to create a centralised technocracy to manage global society in order to keep us safe from such eventualities. Astute readers, will recognise that the COVID crises shared the same script, with exponential growth in cases meaning that finite healthcare resources would soon be completely overwhelmed. In fact, a very significant number of hospital beds stood empty in April 2020. Readers will also appreciate that COVID was turned in to an existential crisis by the wholesale manipulation of statistics, the ruthless use of applied psychology and thoroughly dishonest media coverage.
Beyond the central Malthusian pessimism, the Changing Images of Man has a favourable view of humanism and interestingly, also praises Freemasonry as an important force in the creation of the United Sates of America. The text covers a number of bases and the main conclusion that I was able to get from the “progressive” views is that they primarily represent the rejection of well-established Christian values and ethics. For example, the idea that mankind should serve nature is an inversion of important ideas set out in the Bible that mankind is supposed to “be fruitful and increase in number” and have dominion over the earth.
On economics, the text rejects the goal of economic growth and introduces ideas which have now developed into “stakeholder capitalism”. The text also hints at massive economic redistribution to achieve “equity”.
Since 1974 progressive thinking has gone on to assault more and more ideas that were based on, or consistent with, Christianity, including; the sanctity of marriage (let no man tear asunder), the idea that marriage is between a man and a woman and most recently the idea that definitive distinctions between men and women even exist. The retreat of Christianity in the U.K. has opened the door to what the Reverend Dr. Joe Boot has called “neo-paganism”. We discussed these analysis in a wide ranging interview available on the Rumble channel3.
Dr Boot’s excellent book, the Ruler of Kings, looks at ways in which Christianity should influence public life in order to reverse the “disturbing totalitarian drift of a complacent society … ready to run to the state for salvation, safety and provision”. The book references the idea of “sphere sovereignty” which acts to limit the powers of the state and is well worth reading for any libertarian, Christian or otherwise.
Conclusion
Globalists often present their proposed solutions to claimed crises as “scientific” policy solutions. Behind the boring policy language and numeric targets though is, I suspect, a quasi-religious desire to reshape man’s role in the universe as described by the Changing Images of Man.
I believe that this is the reason that Rev. Dr. Boot repeatedly calls for Christians to step-up and seek to reinvigorate the key role of Christian ethics; ”We will either be faithful office-bearers calling the state to order in light of the Word of God and His creation ordinances or we will submit ourselves to the arbitrary dictates of the autonomous man and his reason, enabling the ancient idolatry of statism.”
Whilst it makes sense to continue to expose statistical fraud and other methods used to create, or exaggerate, repeated global crises it is important to accept that interest groups pushing these narratives (often far Left statists) are seeking to re-engineer societies. They don’t seem to care that almost every statistic quoted about COVID (for example) was misleading and they will just move on the next crisis to pursue their liberty crushing agendas. Our aim should then be to resist the globalist agenda on principle. On principle, we are opposed to the transfer of political power to remote technocracies and maintain that economic growth (done properly) remains a valid objective. We also resist the idea that individual liberties should be sacrificed in order to collectivise the populace to receive one-size-fits all “solutions”.
Perhaps we should accept that we are not faced with limited disagreements about policy prescriptions, but rather fundamental disagreements about the Images of Man. I for one don’t accept many of the proposals set out in the 1974 text, which also permeates much of the Great Reset dystopia.
Let me have your thoughts below.
Many thanks

Thanks Alex. This is a really thought provoking substack. Appreciate you sharing it. It echos many of my own thoughts and musings. The social engineering is a key part of dehumanising us, isolating us from our own true selves and our place as spiritual beings. It’s about taking us away from our divinity and of course the divine and keeping us some sort of fear based, stale and “safe” or secure place that’s sanitised. I see a lot of mainstream music, art, TV, politics and popular culture as key to all of that and it reflects a kind of sanitised world with limited creativity, human expression and opinion. Music is manufactured. News is manufactured. TV is manufactured. We’ll tell you what music you will like and it’s all you’ll hear “everywhere”. Any real diamond musicians have no platform and now with Spotify they can’t make a living anymore. We’ll tell you what to think via news. Don’t think for yourself. In fact, you don’t even need to vote because we can cleverly predict the outcome !!! We’re now in predictive mode because we’re telling you who to vote for and you are buying it…so why bother with elections…oh and sometimes they might be rigged anyway…and even if you vote for the other person…we own them too! I’ve gone off your point here which was more about the essence of humanity, our connection to the divine and the all powerful corporate-governmental-scientific empirical takeover. But I think it’s all part of the programming - confuse, divide, programme, repeat and conquor.
